Wat niet garandeert dat hij dat kunstje dit weekeinde in Azerbeidzjan herhaalt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-2c7195-1 dhuKSd\">\n<p class=\"sc-2ea02837-0 fedhGB\" id=\"393409641871605\">&#8220;Dat een auto overal goed is, wil niet zeggen dat je overal wint&#8221;, zegt Kees van de Grint, die als bandenexpert van Bridgestone zevenvoudig wereldkampioen Michael Schumacher jarenlang bijstond bij Ferrari. &#8220;Maar je kunt er wel zo dicht mogelijk bij in de buurt komen, zoals met de McLaren van dit jaar.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><h2 class=\"sc-6b450628-0 kJgmeS\">Compromissen sluiten<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-2c7195-1 dhuKSd\">\n<p class=\"sc-2ea02837-0 fedhGB\" id=\"867858493732976\">Als ander voorbeeld noemt Van de Grint de McLaren MP4\/4, waarmee Ayrton Senna en Alain Prost in het seizoen 1988 op \u00e9\u00e9n na alle grand prix-zeges pakten. Of Red Bulls RB19, dominant in 2023. Max Verstappen won er veertien races mee, teamgenoot Sergio P\u00e9rez twee. Alleen in Singapore zegevierde Ferrari.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-2c7195-1 dhuKSd\">\n<p class=\"sc-2ea02837-0 fedhGB\" id=\"638057643519149\">Volgens voormalig Ferrari-ingenieur Ernest Knoors sluiten Formule 1-ontwerpers compromissen. &#8220;Je hebt 24 races. Elk circuit is anders en stelt andere eisen aan wat de ideale auto zou zijn. Het is niet als voetbal, waar het veld overal ter wereld hetzelfde is. Van de Grint werkte in 1999 voor Mercedes, dat de ideale raceauto voor de 24 uur van Le Mans dacht te hebben ontwikkeld.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-2c7195-1 dhuKSd\">\n<p class=\"sc-2ea02837-0 fedhGB\" id=\"442048684077481\">&#8220;Door de hobbels op Le Mans en de keiharde vering sprongen onze auto&#8217;s, kwam er te veel lucht onder en zwiepten ze omhoog.&#8221; Dat team kan het beste een compromis vinden op de meeste circuits, maar niet op allemaal. Je zag dat ze op Monza een auto hadden die net niet effici\u00ebnt genoeg was qua topsnelheid. Ze hadden veel <em>downforce,<\/em> neerwaartse druk, maar ook te veel luchtweerstand om mee te doen voor de zege.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-2c7195-1 dhuKSd\">\n<p class=\"sc-2ea02837-0 fedhGB\" id=\"703138173439834\">Andrea Stella, de Italiaanse teambaas van McLaren, erkent dat: &#8220;Als Red Bull met een kleine achtervleugel rijdt, zoals in Monza, dan brengt hen dat veel, vooral op aerodynamisch vlak. Onze auto is een heel ander ontwerp. We willen overal competitief zijn, niet op een paar circuits.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><h2 class=\"sc-6b450628-0 kJgmeS\">Factor Verstappen<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-2c7195-1 dhuKSd\">\n<p class=\"sc-2ea02837-0 fedhGB\" id=\"310134643946995\">Van de Grint noemt nog een andere factor: Verstappen. &#8220;McLaren was niet slecht in Monza, h\u00e8, ze werden tweede en derde. Telstar wint ook een keer van PSV. Verstappen nam daar het initiatief om in de race met die vlakke vleugel te rijden, ondanks twijfels van de technici. Zijn topsnelheid lag ongeveer acht kilometer per uur hoger. Temperatuur is ook belangrijk. Je hebt bolides die makkelijk temperatuur in hun banden krijgen, die zijn goed op koude banen. Je hebt ook teams die juist goed zijn op warme banen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><h2 class=\"sc-6b450628-0 kJgmeS\">Kracht van McLaren<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"sc-2c7195-1 dhuKSd\">\n<p class=\"sc-2ea02837-0 fedhGB\" id=\"556194796340389\">&#8220;De kracht van de McLaren ten opzichte van anderen is de wielgeometrie&#8221;, vult Van de Grint aan, &#8220;want die auto gaat zo te zien het beste met zijn banden om. Weet je, McLaren denkt: als we 19 van de 24 races winnen, zijn we wereldkampioen. Dan kan het voorkomen dat er bepaalde circuits zijn, waar een ander ons kan benaderen, maar dan zijn we nog altijd goed genoeg.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc-2c7195-1 dhuKSd\">\n<p class=\"sc-2ea02837-0 fedhGB\" id=\"230742000888831\">Alles winnen in \u00e9\u00e9n seizoen, het lijkt bijna onmogelijk. Dat ervoer volgens Van de Grint ook de vermaarde Engelse ingenieur Colin Chapman, die de Lotus 77 uit 1976 bewust ontwierp om op elk circuit te functioneren.
