De daaruit voortvloeiende moeilijkheden, tragedie en onverwachte obstakels brengen Lucila in een meedogenloze wereld die ze niet kent en die ze moet proberen te navigeren om eenvoudigweg te overleven.<br \/><strong>Deadline opname: <\/strong>Met krachtige begeleiding van Diego Luna die terugkeert naar de regisseursstoel om een \u200b\u200bheel persoonlijk verhaal te vertellen over familie, de ervaring van weggaan en achtergelaten worden, van racisme, immigratie en het vinden van nieuw leven in een vreemd land, <em>As <\/em>is een krachtige en ontroerende film. Het is ook uniek omdat het rechtstreeks ingaat op het hot-button-onderwerp immigratie, maar verrassend genoeg in twee landen die dezelfde taal spreken. Dit onderscheidt het van de gebruikelijke verhalen die we in Amerika hebben gezien, waar Mexicanen zichzelf proberen te assimileren in de VS en tegen een regering aanlopen die vastbesloten is hen buiten te houden. In dit geval is het echter Spanje, en Luna en zijn medeschrijvers laten zien dat een gedeelde taal niet het tegengif is tegen haat en welkom worden geheten in een nieuw land.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n<p>\tDe opening van de film, opgenomen in duisternis en schaduw, toont ons een moeder die in tranen afscheid neemt van haar slapende kinderen. Dit is nog maar het begin van de lange emotionele reis voor Lucila en Diego, terwijl ze een manier zullen vinden om zich te herenigen met hun moeder. Diaz als Lucila is een openbaring en het hart en de ziel van <em>As, <\/em>die is gebaseerd op het boek van Brenda Navarro.
